Handcrafted from driftwood with vernacular ‘alang alang’ grass roofs, the one and two and three bedroom stilted beach houses incorporate spacious upstairs bedrooms, bathrooms and balconies to maximise water views and catch cooling sea breezes.

Privacy is guaranteed with all of the accommodation generously spaced out over a 5 hectare site on the western side of the island. The remaining 10 hectares  is primary rainforest and it is the more environmentally sensitive portion of the island it has been preserved as a sanctuary.  There are no other hotels, restaurants or shops on the island, it is truly a private island.

There are a total of 15 beach houses (10 x one bedroom, 4 x 2 bedroom and 1 x 3 bedroom) with no plans to build any more.  On twin share basis we can comfortably accommodate 42 guests but we often have 50 or more staying as the re are an additional 7 bunk rooms in some of the houses and day beds can also be converted to additional beds.

All of our beach houses are just metres away from the beach and have glorious sea views.  They all have the same master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom upstairs and downstairs is the ultimate in chill out zones with an open-air lounge area complete with day beds, sun loungers, balé for massages and on request a bar and icebox can be provided.

Interiors introduce you to barefoot luxury at its very best. With vaulted ceilings, handmade electric fans and king sized beds resplendent in luxurious white cotton sheets draped with generous mosquito nets. Ensuite master bathrooms include hot water showers and modern fittings set amongst natural stone and wood.  Each beach house has an iPod speaker system and a safe.  Whilst free of telephones, computers and fax machines there is excellent mobile phone reception on the island should you wish to be contactable.

Our one bedroom beach houses have  over 100sqm of floor space and four of these one bedroom houses have a small bunk room downstairs suitable for two children, making them ideal for a family of 4.  The 140sqm two bedroom beach houses boast separate bedrooms linked by elevated wooden walkways. For those with large or extended families we have a three bedroom beach house with 170sqm of floor space. In addition all of our two bedroom beach houses have an additional small bunkroom suitable for a maid or two children.

Meals can be enjoyed in the privacy of your own beach house, the clubhouse restaurant or as a picnic on the beach.  And for those seeking total seclusion, picnic hampers can be ordered and taken to your choice of the nearby deserted islands (additional charges apply for the use of speedboats).  Menus change daily according to the seasonal availability of ingredients from local markets. The emphasis is on fresh ingredients and simple cooking.  Barbequed seafood, local dishes and tropical fruits feature prominently on the menu.  We have an excellent and reasonably priced selection of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks available.  For wannabe sailors we have an extensive selection of aged rums and for those who like a good dram we stock all of the Islay malt whiskies.
