Regular high speed catamaran ferries operate between Singapore and Bintan Resorts (Bandar Bentan Telani). The service takes less than 1 hour and operates at least five times every day. Ferry bookings can be made online: www.brf.com.sg or by email reservations@brf.com.sg. The Tanah Merah ferry terminal in Singapore is 10 minutes from Changi International aiport or 30 minutes from the city centre.
The Nikoi launch is a solid custom built 48ft wooden boat, powered by a 350hp engine. It was built for us in 2004 using local timbers by a traditional boat builder based on a design adapted from local fishing boats. It has an experienced crew and is equipped with life vests, VHF radio and navigation equipment. In addition, we have a speed boat capable of reaching the island in 10 minutes that is suitable for smaller groups and trips to other islands.
From Jakarta
There are twice daily flights from Jakarta to Bintan
on Sriwijaya Air. From the airport on Bintan it is a
half hour car journey to Kawal and then a half hour
boat trip to Nikoi.
