COVID Travel Policy (updated 11 January 2023)

Nikoi re-opened on the 1st of April 2022.  Travel restrictions put in place during the pandemic are quickly being relaxed.   The Singapore government has announced that from 1st April 2022 they will allow ferries to operate as per the schedules that were in place prior to the pandemic.  At the same time they also announced a move to simplify testing and relax all restrictions for vaccinated travellers in and out of Singapore.  On the Indonesian side there has been a gradual easing of restrictions.  Effective from 18 May 2022 all requirements to test for Covid have been removed for fully vaccinated travellers. There is an exemption for those under 18 years old if travelling with vaccinated parents and for those who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons.Effective from 8th June 2022 the requirement to have travel insurance was also relaxed.  We however strongly recommend that you do have travel insurance.  You can sign up to a policy with Chubb by clicking on this link (available to Singapore residents only).

We expect that these restrictions will be relaxed further and have been in regular contact with the local authorities on this.  A visa can be obtained on arrival for 86 nationalities (see list below) at a cost of IDR500,000 (approx S$50).  Cash (SGD or IDR) only accepted.  Passport holders from APEC member countries can  obtain a visa on arrival without any charge .  We can apply for visas for travellers from any other nationalities not included in the list of 86 countries.  The Indonesian government charges a fee which is equivalent to approx S$150 per person for this application and the process takes 7 working days.  Please get in touch with our reservations team ([email protected]) if you need further information.

During the pandemic we continued to honour our refund policy and helped guests reschedule bookings.  We also temporarily relaxed our cancellation policy so that any new bookings made from 16th March 2020 until border restrictions between Singapore and Bintan were lifted were be eligible for a full refund even if cancelled less than 21 days prior to check-in date. As border restrictions have now been lifted we have reverted to our normal policy of requiring 21 days notice to cancel or modify a booking.Waitlist

We have a waitlist for dates sold out but please note that priority is given to our Island Club members.  We release rooms around 12 months ahead.  We give priority to our Island Club members to book rooms prior to release.  The Island Club is our loyalty program which helps support The Island Foundation.  If you would like to know more about becoming an Island Club member then please visit this page. Should you require any further information then please email our reservations team: [email protected]

Thank you for your support and we look forward to welcoming you to Nikoi soon.
